Melanie Shaha experienced hair loss in 2003 as a result of a benign brain tumor. Her son let his hair grow out so he could create her a wig.

Shaha of Gilbert, Arizona, began experiencing dull headaches, which medical professionals eventually identified as signs of a pituitary brain tumor.

A son grows out his mother’s hair and fashions a wig for her after she loses it due to cancer treatment.

The tiny gland located close to the base of the brain controls hormones associated with growth, stress, and metabolism.

The plum-sized tumor in Melanie was interfering with the pituitary gland’s ability to operate.

The six-child mother told TODAY Parents that the tumor removal procedure “went pretty well.”

A recurrence in 2006 demanded the removal of the tumor once more, and a third recurrence in 2017 required treatment.

“I enquired about hair loss with (my doctor).

“And they said ‘No,'” Melanie Shaha said. “I had a large shed and three months later I started loosing hair.” I was amazed, according to the National Cancer Institute. “A negative effect of radiation is hair loss in affected areas.”

Without hair, she continued, you stand out like a sore thumb and well-meaning people could say things that hurt you. Even though I don’t like being sick, I just don’t like how I appear ill. In the store, I’d prefer to fit in than stand out.

In 2018, Matt, Melanie’s 27-year-old son, delivered a joke over a family breakfast.

After leaving a university with a rigorous dress code that forbade long hair, Matt was enjoying the pleasure of growing his hair out until “something snapped,” he told the outlet.

Melanie Shaha, on the other hand, didn’t want to burden her son any further. He would reply when I complimented his hair, “Coming soon to a head near you!”

By March 21, Matt’s hair had grown to a 12-inch length that was ready for a wig. Together with a few colleagues, he went to his mother’s house and chopped it all off.

We were overjoyed, and when they began to chop, we sobbed, Melanie recounted.

In June, after Matt’s hair was transferred to Compassionate Creations in Newport Beach, California, Melanie was given a hand-tied wig.

Veronica Balch, a co-founder, said, “The family was such a joy to deal with. So, it is much more amazing what we do when someone selflessly shaves their head for a family member.

Melanie is now a fan of her wig. “The color is beautiful, and we had hair trimmed and combed by a pro,” she exclaimed. That looks great on me, according to Matt.

Melanie was aware that it would be difficult to surpass Matt’s gift. Your emotional tank is definitely topped off by it.
