A teenage girl was reportedly followed from her school bus stop to her residence by a male individual. However, he was unaware that her father, who had served in the Army, had come back home and was prepared to handle the situation.
Mike Oliver, a father of 15 and a former member of the Army, was quite angry when he found a guy in his Livonia, Michigan, residence on a Monday afternoon.
As reported by Fox 2 Detroit, the guy supposedly trailed his teenage daughter from her school bus stop to their residence. “The door will stay open.”Then I recall hearing her talk,” Oliver recollected. “I rise, approach the door, and there is a gentleman present.”
Oliver’s daughter had felt that something was amiss after getting off the bus. As she made her way home, she became aware that someone was behind her, and she promptly understood that they were observing her.

A guy approached her as she neared her front door. Reportedly, he followed her onto the porch and inquired about the whereabouts of her parents before proceeding to follow her into the house, as per WXYZ.
Mike Oliver was in his living room, waiting for his 15-year-old daughter, who was in 10th year at Franklin High School, to come home. He observed that a man, who seemed to be in his 30s, had followed his daughter home.
Upon realizing this, Oliver straightforwardly asked the stranger what he was doing on his property.
Instead of answering, the individual tried to escape from the residence. Oliver, however, was not going to allow him to leave without resistance. The Army veteran approached the individual, who was later identified by authorities as 27-year-old David Roberts of Livonia. Roberts didn’t make much progress in his hunt.
Actually, when he fought with him in the front yard, Oliver prevented him from leaving his property. “I seized him by the hair,” Oliver remembered the moment he stopped the man in his path. “He was writhing like a reptile, and he escaped.”” He quickly ran around the corner.

Although the suspect first escaped his grasp, the watchful parent remained undeterred. Mike Oliver hopped into his vehicle and cruised around the area with David Roberts. Oliver’s son, who is 19 years old, and neighbors also joined in, trying to help Oliver find Roberts while he was evading capture.
Several police officers arrived shortly and found David Roberts in a neighboring backyard. He was arrested and accused of burglary and assaulting a police officer.
Despite his bond being set at 10% of $100,000, the Army veteran parent felt that he received a lenient punishment.
“He might have been lying there on the ground today,” Oliver commented, referring to Roberts’ potential outcome. “It could have been much more unfavorable for him.” However, the Army veteran clarified that it is not about being correct, but rather about taking the appropriate action.
Although the teenager is unharmed, she did not emerge from the encounter without injury. However, she is fearful of attending school and has no desire to do so.
“This year, my daughter is performing satisfactorily in school,” Cindy Oliver, the mother of the 10th student at Franklin High School, disclosed. “She chose not to attend school today due to concerns about her well-being.”
Parents and children are being recommended to be aware of their surroundings following the occurrence. It is also suggested that pupils, regardless of age, walk to and from their house with a companion or, much better, a group.
If they notice someone or something strange, they should inform an adult or call 911. If they feel in danger, they should run away.
While it may seem like something everyone knows, this basic reminder is quite necessary. There are creatures among us, and our greatest protection is to be conscious of their existence.
