“What on earth is happening here?” Joe got out of the car and ran up to the front step. He greeted a man standing by the entrance. “Hello, what are you doing in my residence?” “You must be Joe!” The man smiled awkwardly and touched the back of his head.
Joe believed that placing his ill mother in a nursing home was the best course of action for her. Emily, his soon-to-be wife, convinced him that it was in everyone’s best interests to have the old woman leave her residence. She smiled and said, “You made the correct decision.” “The nursing home will provide a more pleasant living environment for your mother…”and we can make a beautiful nursery for our child in her previous craft area.

However, Joe and Emily were taken aback to witness certain individuals taking away their belongings from their residence upon their return from the nursing facility. Surprised by what they seen, they quickly went to examine it.
“What on earth is going on here?” Joe shouted as he quickly moved from the car to the porch. “Hello, could you please provide some information about yourself?”and why are you at my house, anyway?

“You must be Joe,” the man said. “I expected you to come.” Just so you know, it’s no longer your residence! Your mom was the one who sold it to us. Here are the papers, and there are your possessions.
Joe was searching with bewilderment, he couldn’t comprehend what he was hearing and was immobilized. However, Emily took action. She took the paper from the man’s hand and began examining the agreement. Her facial expression indicated its veracity. Joe’s mother successfully sold the house.
“You idiot!” she shouted. “Your mother deceived you right in front of you…”and you had no idea? Everything is destroyed now.
“Emily… please refrain from saying that.” I don’t comprehend why Mom did this. However, we still have one another. We are able to…
“There is no longer a collective ‘we’, you person of low success!” “Don’t worry about me,” she added as she removed the ring and tossed it onto the ground.

Joe chased after her, begging, “Please wait…”What about our child?
However, Emily found his response amusing and said, “You’re quite foolish!” There is no infant. Now please move aside.
“What…what are you trying to say?” Emily… Emily? Cease…” Joe shouted, but she departed from the location and exited his life.
Sad, Joe stood on the porch and that’s when he saw a note beneath one of the crates.
He received it from his mother.
“Hello Joe,”
I apologize for this occurrence. I wish I didn’t have to take such extreme measures. However, you gave me no alternative. It all began the day you first brought Emily home… The letter began.

A few weeks ago…
The choice to sell the house was made weeks ago, when Joe’s mother, Nora, was relaxing in her recliner.
Joe arrived at the location, accompanied by a woman named Emily. “…Joe is quite amusing…and pleasant,” Emily giggled as she sat next to Joe on the couch. “I couldn’t refuse when he initially invited me to go on a date to the amusement park.”
“It has only been three weeks…but it seems like we’ve been acquainted for a long time. “That’s why I strongly suggested that Emily come live with me,” Joe remarked with a clear sense of joy in his eyes.
Nora was shocked by her son’s statements. She need some time to collect herself as she put on her oxygen mask.
“I apologize if this has been unexpected, Mom,” Joe gently massaged Nora’s shoulder. “Events may appear abrupt…nonetheless, believe me…Emily is the one I choose. We are perfect for each other!

Nora looked at Emily, held her hand, and asked, “Emily, if it’s okay with you, could you please prepare some tea for me?” The heat calms my throat. The kitchen is in that direction…”
As Emily exited the room to prepare some tea, Joe gazed at his mother and softly said, “Isn’t she remarkable, Mom?”
“She appears to be a kind young woman. But don’t you think you’re moving a bit quickly, Joey?”
“Mom, I comprehend your worries. I chose not to disclose anything to you due to your well-being. However, it is important for you to be aware…I’m thinking of asking Emily to marry me this weekend.

As anticipated, Nora thought it was too early since Joe had only known Emily for a few weeks.
“Mom, calm down.” You’re the one who showed me how to stand up for love. That’s what you and Dad did when you ran away to be married, correct?”
“However, Joey, that and this are completely distinct.”
“Mom, I have strong feelings for Emily.” I cannot survive without her. Please believe me… she will be a lovely spouse and a fantastic addition to our family.
This abrupt surge didn’t bring Nora tranquility.
However, when Emily arrived the next day, things appeared to have worked out since she and Nora got along great. They bonded, watched educational films, and spoke.
Nora began to develop a positive opinion of her future daughter-in-law, until one night when she woke up at midnight to take her medication. She overheard Nora speaking on the phone, referring to someone as “that elderly woman with her oxygen machine.” Nora expressed frustration, describing her as an obstacle in her life. yet Joe is deeply infatuated with me. So I should be able to remove her soon.

Nora became motionless. At that point she pondered what actions Emily would do to separate herself from her, but then Emily proceeded, “Just a little persuasive conversation, and he should be willing to place his mother in a nursing home.” Then, I’ll remove him, and this home will be mine!”
Nora’s original intention was to inform her son about what she had heard, but she was aware that he was too infatuated with his girlfriend to have faith in her.
During the following days, Emily behaved as if she liked spending time with Nora.

One day, though, Joe came up to Nora and informed her that they needed to have a conversation.
“It’s regarding Emily…” Joe stated.
“Oh, I apologize for the unfortunate outcome of your relationship…”
However, Joe had a displeased expression. “Pardon me?” Everything is going well between Emily and myself, Mom. I have never been more content.
“Well, Mom…” Joe took a deep gulp. “…”Emily has been managing her own business while working via the temporary employment agency. She requires assistance in purchasing further equipment. However, she is now unable to afford it. So I would want to assist her…However, there is only one method to acquire the funds I require.

“What’s the matter, Joe?” Nora questioned with much apprehension.
“Mom, you know…your health is not getting better. I believe you require a more suitable location where you receive proper care…I believe it’s time for you to consider transitioning to a nursing home.
“Mom, it will be cozy there,” he murmured as he gently held his mom’s hand. “…and if you agree to sell your house, I can invest that money in Emily’s business.” I assure you that I will buy back this home once we start making a profit on the venture.
Nora expressed her regret, saying, “I don’t want to depart…from my residence.”

“Mom, I’m simply trying to take care of you.” Could you please…? Joe begged.
Realizing there were limited options available to her at that time, Nora nodded.
“I will consider it, Joey.” “Just provide me with some time,” she stated.

Nora need some time to execute her strategy of exposing Emily’s actual identity.
The next day, Nora’s crocheting was disturbed by the sound of the front door opening. While glancing out the window, Nora noticed Emily leaving the home.
Despite not having driven for a while, Nora chose to trail behind Emily.

After a while, Emily parked her car and went inside a coffee shop where she encountered a man. After a little while, they began kissing intensely. Nora brought out her phone to record them, but at that instant, they ceased kissing and were only visible clasping hands.
“Joey, I apologize for interrupting you during your work…”However, this is significant. Could you join me outside the coffee shop at the intersection of 3rd Street? Nora phoned her son.

Joe came after around 10 minutes and Nora informed him about what she had seen.
“See over there, Joey,” Nora directed her gaze towards the café window. “Emily is being unfaithful to you.”
Angry, Joe entered the location.
“What on earth is happening here??” He forcefully hit the table, surprising Emily and her partner. “For how long have you been meeting this person without my knowledge?”
“What??” Do you believe that I am being unfaithful to you? How did you, Joe?” Emily inquired with a tearful voice.
“I witnessed you engaging in a kiss,” Nora interjected.
“Oh… he’s my cousin!” It was only a quick kiss on the lips. I was raised in New York, and that’s how we consistently welcomed relatives.
“Your relative?” And why haven’t I been aware of him? Joe had a displeased expression on his face.
“Since…”I’ve put forth a lot of effort to reach my current position. I didn’t want you to be aware of my family’s history, Joe. If you remain unconvinced, I will demonstrate the extent of my affection for you.
Drying her emotions, Emily retrieved a positive pregnancy test from her luggage.

“I intended to catch you off guard. You’re going to be a father, Joe!
It was sufficient for Joe’s fury to diminish. He hugged Emily and began kissing her while his mother continued to implore, “Come back to reality, Joe.” She’s not telling the truth. She’s just interested in someone’s wealth.
“Please cease, Mom!” Joe disregarded Nora’s appeals. “Why are you so determined to constantly prove that she is evil?” She has always been nice to you.
“Pardon me?” I’m not being dishonest…I witnessed them engaging in a kiss. No one kisses their relative in that manner.
“Darling, it’s alright. “Don’t be too tough on her,” Emily advised Joe. “It’s not her responsibility…”Do you recall what I mentioned earlier? She’s becoming disoriented.

Are you perplexed? Please refrain from presenting me with it! What additional falsehoods did this deceitful person tell you, Joe? Nora was angry.
“Mom, I believe it would be better to have this conversation at home,” Joe stated with frustration as he got into his car.
“…that’s partly why I strongly encouraged you to move into a nursing home,” Joe attempted to clarify to his mother. “…you require appropriate attention, Mom. You seem to be confused and have begun displaying indications of cognitive decline. I have strong feelings for you…and I only desire the finest for you.
Nora knew she couldn’t oppose her son. Without the ability to protect herself, she informed Joe that she planned to relocate to a nursing facility and sell her house in order to assist his future bride with her company.

However, Nora had an other strategy.
Nowadays…
“…”I only desired the best for you, son. I hope you now see that I was always being honest.
Joe came to the realization that his mom had been correct all along. He came to the realization that he had been foolish in allowing Emily to influence him against his own mother.
After drying his eyes, Joe got into his car and drove to the elderly home.
“I’ve come to visit my mother, Mrs. Brady,” Joe informed the receptionist.
“Thank goodness you’ve arrived,” she said. “We have been attempting to contact you for the previous 30 minutes.” Your mother experienced respiratory failure and had to be admitted to the hospital.
Joe quickly went to the hospital and stood in front of the emergency room. After what seemed like a very long time, the doctor came out of the room and Joe inquired about his mother’s condition.
“I apologize, Joe…but your mother… she didn’t survive.”
“Pardon me?” However, her health was being managed, Dr…How was this…Oh…how could this happen? Joe wept.
“She was in a stable condition, but her health has recently started to decline.” I assumed you were aware…I suggested a more assertive treatment plan during her most recent check-up. However, she did not appear thereafter.

Sad, Joe began to cry. He was unable to comprehend the fact that his mother was no longer present. He wished he had believed her when she tried to explain the type of person he wanted to marry.
While he was crying, he got a text message stating that $500,000 had been sent to his bank account. It must have been the money his mother received from selling her house.
