A rising teenage Mexican singer was shot and killed by her kidnappers.
On Wednesday night, he was shot and died on the side of the road in Tijuana, Mexico. Chuy Montana was his stage name.
Cardenas, 25, was ambushed by a gang of armed men on the route between Playas de Rosarito and Tijuana, according to Tijuana police, who said the men were trying to kidnap the singer for the band Corridos Tumbados.
Cardenas escaped his kidnappers by jumping out of the automobile they had put him in.
According to the news source, Cardenas was shot multiple times and found dead with his wrists shackled.
Images from the scene that showed the musician lying next to an orange Renault Stepway van were obtained by Punto Norte.
He passed away, according to a statement from his record company, Street Mob Records, which was founded by well-known Mexican artist Jesús Ortiz Paz of the band Fuerza Regida.
The Instagram statement added, “On behalf of Street Mob Records, we deeply regret the passing of our brother and colleague Chuy Montana.”
“During this difficult time, our prayers and thoughts are with his family.” We respectfully request that the media be kind and considerate during this trying time.
Cardenas gained notoriety on social media for his guitar playing and singing in between cars as people waited in line to enter the United States through San Ysidro, Tijuana, and before he was signed by Ortiz Paz’s Street Mob Records.
A video that captured the incident where Cardenas and another guitarist ran into Ortiz Paz became viral on social media. Ortiz Paz was in line to re-enter the United States from Mexico.
Cardenas sings to Ortiz Paz in the video, and the latter asks the Tijuana native if he wrote the song.
Next, Ortiz Paz says, “Sign here only,” pulling out a piece of paper. Cardenas is then signed to one of his Street Mob Records. Officially, you are now a part of the team. They’re going to send you a missive. Alright, head back home.
In the end, Cardenas rose to fame following the release of his hits Ramos Buchones and Porte de Scarface.
He appears in the new song “Polvos de Chanel” by Fuerza Regida, taken from their album “Pa las Baby’s y Belikeada.”
After learning of Cardenas’s passing, Ortiz Paz posted two videos of the two of them singing in what appeared to be private settings because she was saddened.
One of the videos was shared by Ortiz Paz on his Instagram Stories. In it, the lead singer of Fuerza Regida raps as Cardenas is seen strumming the guitar.
The second video was recorded in an opulent patio and features Cardenas and Ortiz Paz rapping together.
