A sixty-year-old man dressed as Santa Claus who visits sick children in hospitals had a really depressing experience.
Social media is buzzing with the heartbreaking tale of 60-year-old Eric Schmitt-Matzen, who is the hospital equivalent of Santa Claus and who cruelly witnessed a 5-year-old boy die in his arms.
A nurse promptly called him to see the little kid, as was customary, and Eric wasted no time in grinning.
“My phone started ringing… Eric Schmitt-Matzen said, “I was speaking with a nurse I know who works in a hospital about a 5-year-old boy who was very sick and whose greatest ambition was to meet Santa Claus.”
After the call, Schmitt-Matzen informed the nurse he would come as soon as he put on Santa’s costume, but she assured him it wasn’t required: “Just put on your suspenders and glasses, then come right forward. “The nurse explained that there isn’t any more time.”
Did I hear you were going to miss Christmas? I asked him as I perched on the side of his bed. There’s no way you’ll be able to miss Christmas! The tiny man was really feeble and appeared to be content to sleep forever. He saw me and smiled, said, saw me and smiled, saw me and smiled, saw me and smiled, saw me and smiled! ..You know what, my favorite elf is you. The youngster lit up and said, “Really?” when I added that.Eric said.
After giving him the gift—a toy from the PAW Patrol TV series—he unwrapped it carefully and grinned broadly before standing up to give me a strong hug.
“How will I know where to go if they tell me I’m going to die?” Santa replied, “You tell them you’re Santa’s number one elf and you’re going in right now when you get there.”
The mother of the kid entered the room and yelled, “No, no, my God, not yet!” as the newborn passed away during the embrace and conversation. The parents were outside the door seeing the occurrence.
“I hurriedly gave her her son and left. I was so affected by it that I wondered whether I might play Santa Claus once more. Eric had finished his assignment.
