Bob Newhart, a comedian and actor, passed away at the age of 94. His performances in Legally Blonde and Elf made him most famous.

Bob Newhart was a comedian on The Ed Sullivan Show when he was younger.

He soon began appearing in films, including “Catch-22” and “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.”

Prior to becoming Papa Elf, he performed the voice of Leonard the Polar Bear in the beloved holiday cartoon film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and acted in Legally Blonde 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bob passed away early on Thursday. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Bob Newhart was educated at Roman Catholic schools in and around Chicago, including St. Ignatius College Prep, which he graduated in 1947, and St. Catherine of Siena Grammar School in Oak Park.

After that, he enrolled at Loyola University Chicago, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management in 1952.

Following high school, Newhart was inducted into the US Army and served as a personnel manager in the Korean War until his release in 1954.

He did not complete his degree at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, having attended for a brief period of time. He quit for a variety of reasons, including being asked to perform an immoral task while working as an intern.

Newhart was born September 5, 1929, in Oak Park, Illinois.

He was born into an Irish-American housewife named Julia Pauline and a German-Irish co-owner of a plumbing supply company named George David Newhart.

From St. Catharines, Canada, was one of Newhart’s grandmothers.

He was reared by his three sisters.

The brief run of NBC variety show The Bob Newhart Show marked the beginning of Newhart’s TV career. He rose to fame on The Bob Newhart Show as Chicago psychotherapist Robert Hartley.

His next role on Newhart was as Dick Loudon, the Vermont innkeeper.

He starred in two short-lived sitcoms in the 1990s, Bob and George & Leo.

Newhart has acted in films such as Elf, Cold Turkey, In & Out, and Catch-22.

He also narrated for Bernard in the Disney animated films The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under.

Newhart’s first Primetime Emmy Award was received while he was Professor Proton on The Big Bang Theory from 2013 to 2018.

After releasing his album The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart in 1960, Bob Newhart rose to fame. It consisted of humorous monologues.

The album immediately shot to the top of the Billboard pop album list and is currently the 20th best-selling comedy album of all time.

The album that followed, The Button-Down Mind Strikes Back!, was also a hit. Both albums were number one on the Billboard chart at the same moment.
