Sometimes, a child’s generosity and innocence may leave us dumbfounded. Sunshine Oelfke, a 5-year-old girl, made a gesture that touched everyone’s hearts in this tale.
When the little child got home from school one day, she immediately rushed to her piggy bank, where she had saved some money. She emptied her purse’s contents onto the floor in the center of the room and began calculating her money before putting it all in a bag and placing it in her rucksack.
Jackie, her grandma, initially assumed the kid was playing, but when she discovered money in her backpack, she questioned the youngster about her plans for the cash.
Sunshine informed her grandma that today while working in kindergarten, she saw that Layla, one of her coworkers, lacked the funds to purchase milk. He then considered stealing some cash from his girlfriend’s handbag so that she may purchase milk like the other kids.
She doesn’t get milk because her mother can’t afford it, but I can, so I want to give it to her, the girl remarked.
Grandma was so moved by the girl’s kindness that she went to the school to see the instructor and give her the $30 she had amassed.
Grandma Jackie expressed her gratitude for her niece’s kind act to a nearby newspaper. The woman said that the kid’s mother had drug abuse issues and was frequently in and out of prison, thus the youngster grew up in a challenging environment.
It appears that at least 20 kids in the kindergarten have families that cannot afford to buy milk for them.
Sunshine was overjoyed to get back from kindergarten the following day because “all the kids in my class got milk today!” she said.
After Grandma posted the entire account on Facebook, people were really amazed and began making financial contributions. 6,000 dollars were raised for the kindergarten students’ milk in just 3 weeks.
The grandmother said, “My niece now doesn’t understand what an impact she managed to make and how well she managed to help the children who needed it.”
