We wholeheartedly concur with their assertion that conflicts about questions of taste are unavoidable, as beauty is inherently subjective. What one person finds attractive may be disgusting to another, and vice versa.
The same may be said of a UK home that attracted a lot of interest when it was up for sale. But most of the buyers graciously rejected and passed on the home after having a peek inside.
The house has four bedrooms, a garage, a master suite, and a tidy garden. Although the property was described as upholding “high standards,” different people had different ideas about what exactly these phrases meant.
You might be surprised to hear that this seemingly picture-perfect home has all purple walls, carpets, and furnishings. That’s precisely what it is. No matter how much you love this color, everyone agrees that this is just too much. So what else is purple? Everything is there: the floors, the draperies, the ceilings.
The closet doors in the master suite are likewise painted purple. Replacing fixtures like closet doors might be a nuisance, but painting over walls is easy.
The tiles in the bathroom are white with accents of purple flowers. In addition, although the bathtub has a white front, the bathroom floor and sides are carpeted in a shaggy purple color.
It would be difficult to sell this property unless the buyer shared my passion for the color purple, as it is never clear from the exterior that the interior is all purple.
The asking price of the home is $5 million.
How do you feel about this? Could you survive in an environment with that much purple?
