German grandma Kerstin Tristan, 56, spent £25,000 getting a custom canvas tattooed on her body, and it has completely changed her appearance.
Her shoulders are covered in leopard print patterns, while her legs are adorned with colorful roses from her inked tapestry.
Together with her physical metamorphosis, Kerstin’s body image has changed.
More than 195,000 people follow her on Instagram, where many describe her as a “beautiful work of art.”
Kerstin’s comment, “When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love,” conveys her strong bond with her tattoos.
She used to dislike tattoos, but after a decade of self-exploration and self-expression, she came to appreciate body art as a means of empowerment and self-acceptance.
When comparing past and current images of Kerstin, her change is quite astounding. Her experience is a tribute to the strength of realizing oneself and accepting it, no matter one’s age or social standing.
