How tragic! The loss is being mourned across the nation.

HUMAN DEATH Only a few weeks before he was meant to accomplish a lifetime ambition, 18-year-old rodeo roper Ace Patton Ashford perishes in a bizarre horse accident.

This week, a young rodeo roper lost his life after his horse pulled him across an open field.

On August 12, Ace Patton Ashford, 18, unexpectedly passed away while tending to a sick cow.

The horrible incident happened in the Chilton, Texas, region around eight in the morning. Chilton is located around twenty miles south of Waco.

Ashford and the calf startled a nearby horse, and awful things happened, according to NBC affiliate KPLCTV.

“The man’s leg got caught, and the horse dragged him quite a distance in an open field,” the Lott Volunteer Fire Department stated.

Despite having head injuries, Ashford was breathing and had a beating heart when he was discovered.

After then, a chopper brought him to the hospital, where he later passed away from his wounds.

When they found Ashford, they claimed he was in “bad shape.”

Ashford, a talented roper in Texas, was close to completing a lifetime ambition this summer.

The awful event occurred just a few weeks before the 18-year-old was scheduled to enroll in college.

Shortly after graduating from Rosebud-Lott High School, he was off to Hill College for the autumn.

He was described as loving Western life and rodeo in his obituary.

It stated that “Ace would devote countless hours to roping in order to reach his full potential.”

According to the obituary, “Ace loved spending his time in the great outdoors, hunting, rodeoing, or just hanging out with his buddies.”

Ace’s entire social circle adored and really respected him.

“Ace had an old soul and never met a stranger.”

There were many heartfelt condolences to the 18-year-old on the obituary website.

“What a fantastic young man Ace was!” Someone wrote, “Because he was so kind and happy, the sun shone brighter around him.”

Another person stated, “Ace was a great person who was also polite and ready for the future.”

DRAGON LIFE

Ashford was born into an animal-loving household because both of his parents were rodeo competitors, according to Sports Illustrated.

Alongside him in competition was his older brother Ross, who qualified for the National Finals.

Sydney Boatright, Ashford’s girlfriend, also mentioned him in a brief Facebook post.

“I love you forever, Ace Patton,” she wrote beneath a photo of the two of them.
