Katy Perry announced the passing of one of her managers on social media.

The 39-year-old singer honored Martin Kirkup on Thursday by sharing some of her own pictures with him.

He passed away at the age of 76.

Even though Martin disliked social media, the Dark Horse hitmaker says she had to write about him because he was so unique.

“It took me a while to make this post…something about post-ing it makes it all feel final,” Katy wrote on Instagram. I must also express how important Martin was and still is to me, even though he disliked social media and all of its sensationalism.

“I say this because I don’t think anyone actually “dies,” she continued. They simply go to the next realm, in my opinion. They used to be here, but now they are everywhere.

“Martin Kirkup was one of my bosses at Direct Management for almost 20 years,” Katy continued. “Show me the data, the P&L, the science, the facts!” was his constant demand. He was our group’s leader. He would simply say something funny, witty, or eloquent with an English accent, and everyone would agree with him, if nothing else worked.

“Martin made sure I was safe.” The man complimented me on being a strong woman and worked hard to get me what I deserved.

“Even before I had a kitchen sink or a window to toss stuff out of, I’ve been so fortunate to have an AMAZING crew by my side for almost 20 years!”

“My team at Direct Management has my utmost pride, respect, and admiration. Martin and all of my managers have literally battled day in and day out for my voice to be heard.”

She added that before he passed away, the British music mogul had heard some of Katy’s new songs.

He finally heard some of what I had been working on and how joyful and wonderful it was three days before he passed away.

He seemed eager for the future, and I was happy to have had one more chance to, in a little way, make him proud.

“We didn’t get to physically say goodbye, but I know he knows how much respect and admiration I have for him, and his hearty chuckles and wicked retorts continue to echo through my mind,” Katy said as she concluded her melancholic letter.

Variety reports that Martin’s three grandchildren, Sam, Abigail, and Ivy, as well as his wife Lale Kirkup, daughter Melisa Kirkup Blatt, and son John Kirkup, will miss him.

Katy announced on Monday that, following six years as a judge, she was departing American Idol.

At the end of the current season, Fireworks’ singer will be departing to focus on new songs.

In response to her decision, Katy stated on Jimmy Kimmel Live, “I think this will probably be my last season for Idol.”

“I really like watching Idol.” I felt the pulse of America through it, but I still need to feel my own.

“I adore the show, but I want to travel and possibly create new music.”

“So, what are your thoughts? I will be attending Rock in Rio, a massive music festival in Brazil, in September. It’s so thrilling, she remarked.

“It’s exciting for everyone, but my Brazilian fans are especially happy.”

“So, for all pop star girls, this year is going to be really, really exciting.”

“I might return if they take me in the future!”

Now that Katy is moving on, her admirers believe a new album will be released shortly. They have been pleading with the celebrity for a long time to release new music.

Katy posted a picture of herself on Instagram, standing in a seductive black dress with large cutouts in the middle and a deep V-neck. She alluded to her job choices in the post.

It was held together with a LOT of silver butterfly pins. She has used this symbol in a couple of her music videos.
