The wedding day should be filled with love, joy, and happy tears.
The tens of thousands of weddings that take place every day are subject to these requirements. Sadly, the marriage of David and Heather Mosher was anything but ordinary.
In 2015, when Heather and David first met, it was “love at first sight.” The two connected immediately after meeting while attending a dancing lesson because they were meant to be.
On December 23, 2016, Dave asked Heather to marry him by going down on one knee. As the two traveled in a horse-drawn carriage under the peaceful ambiance of the city lights, he did so.
Heather cheerfully said “yes,” even knowing the good news for the two of them would soon be overshadowed.
On the day they got engaged, Heather disclosed to David that she had a breast lump that may be cancerous.

She was devastated to learn five days later that she had a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer with a bad prognosis.
Originally planning to wed on December 30, 2017, the couple immediately recognized that owing to the cancer’s rapid growth, they would need to change the wedding date up.
How dangerous a patient’s cancer is is typically determined by the occurrence of metastases, or daughter tumors. In Heather’s instance, the situation soon got worse.
But on December 22, more than a year after Dave had proposed, the moment had come. A lovely wedding occurred while Heather was in the hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
One of Heather’s closest friends, bridesmaid, and backup photographer Christina Karas said of her, “She was determined to marry her soul mate.”

At that point, Heather’s family was ready to just use the garment as a covering for her because her body was so frail.
The wedding could now begin after she finally succeeded in wearing the gown inside the hospital chapel.
Even so, Heather had to put effort into each and every action—every word, each breath, each movement. She found it difficult to get the bravery to make her vows.
She would speak no more after them, which was proper.
“It was a miracle,” Christina said.

Even as she lifted her arms and understood she was about to die, she was happy. She only wanted a fun environment.
Christina continued, “Everyone cried.” We all knew that this was our final chance to be with her, so we cherished every moment.

David’s day was certainly filled with love, despite being tarnished by loss and suffering.
David stated she was pleasant and comfortable.
I noticed her illness. Despite my ability to see how devastated she was, she persevered until we got married. It’s amazing how much affection one person can receive.

Heather takes her final breath.
Following her “Yes” response, Heather passed away 18 hours later. She was just 31 years old.
On December 30, the day Dave and Heather had initially planned to get married, the funeral for Heather was conducted at the Plantsville Congregational Church. The place that the couple had chosen for their wedding was the same.

The world has lost a lovely person, as Christina recalls, “It was an incredibly difficult day.”
Since then, Christina has shared pictures of the couple from their wedding. People all throughout the world have been moved by them.

It goes without saying that everyone involved has experienced sadness, but I’m happy that this story may encourage many others.
