Mick Jagger struggles to contain his tears.

The demise of The Yardbirds guitarist Jeff Beck has shocked the whole music business.

The musician died the day before from bacterial meningitis, according to a statement released by the musician’s family on Wednesday. On Wednesday, the message was made available to the broader public. He was 78.

The statement from his family read, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound regret that we relay the news of Jeff Beck’s Passing.” His family previously released the following statement: “On behalf of his family, we convey the news that Jeff Beck died away yesterday without any pain or suffering after an unexpected infection with bacterial meningitis. During this difficult time, when they are trying to come to terms with the loss of a loved one, his family asks for privacy.

Many of Beck’s previous friends and colleagues, including Jimmy Page, his former bandmate with the Yardbirds, were moved to share their memories of him with the world when news of his passing spread. He took Page’s place in the English rock band in 1965, and Eric Clapton’s place as the group’s guitarist was filled by him in 1966.

The sorcery the Warrior of the Six Strings used to sway the emotions of simple mortals is no longer here for admiration. He did this with extraordinary skill. Jeff has the capacity to channel music from many dimensions. His strategy stands out. He possesses a seemingly limitless flow of original thoughts. When I say that I shall miss you terribly, Jeff, I know that I can speak for all of your countless other fans. Jeff Beck, may you at last find the tranquility that you so richly deserve. Page posted a fresh Instagram message.

Mick Jagger’s first solo album, She’s the Boss, came out in 1985. Beck was requested to play lead guitar on the album. Jagger, who was crucial in getting Beck to appear on the record, called Beck “one of the best guitar players in the world.” In response to Beck’s demise, Jagger wrote on Twitter that “we have lost a brilliant man and one of the best guitarists in the world.”

He continued by saying that after his death, everyone will miss him terribly.
