Eli Hill, an eight-year-old from Corbin, Kentucky, went outside to play basketball one day, but there was no indication of any untoward activity. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the game to turn into a horrific accident that claimed the life of this young child.
The youngster apparently tried to find something to stand on so that he could dunk the ball into the hoop, but suddenly, the backboard struck him, crushing his chest and killing him from blunt force trauma, according to WKYT.
The Hill family was certain that their boy was unique. They praised him for his kind and sympathetic nature as well as his in-depth sporting expertise.
Eli had just turned eight. However, in his eight years, he has shone so brightly, according to Eli’s mother Ashley Hill. He is an excellent example. We simply cannot adequately convey our pride in him. We are so profoundly proud of the legacy he has left behind that words cannot explain how we feel.
The family decided that in order for someone else to benefit from Eli’s golden heart, it would be preferable to donate his organs.
“Those of you who knew Eli Hill are aware of the immense joy a single child may bring to a person’s life as well as to the surroundings in which he or she inhabits. It was simple to pinpoint one person who gave baseball a special dimension for the young boy who loved baseball more than anybody else on the planet.
The family also requested that people not contribute money to the GoFundMe page that was created in their name because it wasn’t actually them who set it up through the police department.
The Better Business Bureau advises contributors to double-check all information before contributing to any possibly fraudulent crowdfunding initiatives.
