Since donning the now-iconic red swimsuit on the television program “Baywatch” around 20 years ago, Yasmine Bleeth has lived a life that is startlingly different from the one she spent in the public eye.
A photo of the 51-year-old former beauty queen walking her dog in Southern California this week revealed that she had altered almost entirely.
Bleeth, who was born and reared in New York City, made her acting debut in a commercial for Johnson & Johnson’s No More Tears shampoo when she was just 10 months old. As a teenager, she made several appearances in soap operas, including “Ryan’s Hope,” but it was her role as Caroline Holden in the television series “Baywatch,” which also starred Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff, that established her as a household figure.
Before switching to the hit television show “Nash Bridges,” starring Don Johnson, where she appeared from 1996 to 2001, Bleeth dashed through the dunes from 1993 to 1997.
She has stated that her tumultuous relationship with “21 Jump Street” actor Richard Grieco was the reason for her increasing use of recreational drugs. She entered the Opulent Promises treatment facility in Malibu in 2000 to get help for her cocaine addiction. She first met future husband and strip club owner Paul Cerrito there.
The next year, Bleeth was detained in Detroit after claims that he had used cocaine.
Bleeth entered a guilty plea to both the possession and driving while drunk charges, and as a result, he was given a two-year probationary period.
Bleeth opened out about her struggle with heroin addiction in an editorial that published in Glamour (via People) in April 2003. In the piece, she acknowledged that she once fainted during a picture shoot and had been awake for five days straight.
Bleeth stated that abstaining from narcotics was a big part of his life now and always.
