Shannen Doherty, an actress, has been candid about her cancer diagnosis and treatment; but, she is now disclosing some really upsetting facts. Her Instagram post announcing the news said, “January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain.”
Radiation therapy is now being used to treat her brain cancer. On January 12th, she received her first radiation treatment. My life was pretty hectic since I have acute claustrophobia, she remarked, adding, “It’s evident that I’m terrified.
Despite going through a difficult period, Doherty expressed her gratitude for her physicians in a letter, stating, “I am fortunate as I have fantastic doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing technologists at Cedar Sinai.”
But cancer may resemble that angst, that unpredictability, and that timing. In addition to the statement, she released a video of herself being exposed to radiation, making no attempt to conceal her fear at the time.
Doherty received his initial cancer diagnosis back in 2015. Breast cancer with metastasized spread was the official diagnosis. Before establishing remission in 2017, Doherty received radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and a single mastectomy.

In 2019, Doherty’s condition returned, but she waited to notify anybody. Doherty informed the public that her breast cancer has progressed to stage 4 in 2020. Doherty’s condition has significantly deteriorated since it was discovered that her illness has spread to her brain, and this time neither her husband nor her family are supporting her.
In April 2023, Doherty announced that she was divorcing Kurt Iswarienko, the man she had been married to for 11 years, three months after finding she had brain cancer and starting treatment. He was allegedly “intimately involved” in his PR.
Many of her well-known pals commented on her Instagram post after learning of her cancer diagnosis. The comment from Kevin Smith was, “Rooting for you, my irreplaceable friend.” Given how brave you have always been, it makes reasonable that you occasionally experience fear. Once such times are through, though, let the unwavering Doherty spirit to once again reign.
