She lost both of her legs after utilizing a simple home chemical. She is now cautioning women worldwide.
The craziest explanation I’ve ever heard of led American model Lauren Wasser to lose her right leg in 2012.
Most of us find it hard to imagine how a personal hygiene product might become a nightmare and permanently change someone’s life. Lauren’s nightmare is still with her. Her second leg had to be amputated by physicians not too long ago.
Lauren is now alerting other women to the dangers of a common product in an effort to ensure that no other woman has to experience what she experienced.
In 2012, Californian model Lauren Wasser visited the hospital due to flu-like symptoms. In actuality, she had toxic shock syndrome, which is brought on by bacterial toxins, rather than the flu.
What led to the infection? a cushion. Tampon use can infect you and cause toxic shock syndrome (TSS) if you use them for an extended period of time.
After the TTS, Lauren spent about a week unconscious. They had to amputate a limb because it was diseased when she woke up. She was twenty-four years old.
Since then, Lauren’s primary purpose in life has been to ensure that no one else experiences what she did.
Nobody other should have to go through this.
“In a few months, I will need to have my other leg amputated.” There is nothing I can do about it. “What I can do is help make sure this doesn’t happen to other people,” she says in an interview with The Daily Mail.
The brand of tampons that caused Lauren to react so strongly is being sued by Lauren in a very difficult case by Kotex Natural Balance.
“It is important for consumers to know what could really happen because the vagina is the body part that absorbs the most and gives access to many of our vital organs,” Lauren writes in InStyle.
It was terribly terrible that Lauren had to have her other leg amputated lately.
The model posted a photo of herself on social media with Paralympic athlete Amy Purdy, who lost both of her legs, as soon as she left the operating room. She used the image to write this message:
“Life is going to be so different once again! Nevertheless, I’m feeling upbeat and prepared for the next phase of my life. // photo courtesy of my love, @camraface.
This girl inspires me with her bravery. As you battle, remain upbeat and resilient. She never gives up, not only for herself but also for others, so that they won’t have to experience what she experienced.
Please share Lauren’s experience with other women so they are aware of the potential risks associated using tampons.
