Six aches that may indicate cancer

Pain is the body’s alarm mechanism alerting us to a problem.

Learn which ailments we frequently ignore but that really call for a check-up from Dr. Mehmet Oz!

When discomfort signals to you from your body

If you’re convinced that there’s a problem in a particular area, seeing an expert is the safest course of action to take. If you experience pain on a daily basis, you should never become accustomed to it and should never dismiss it.

According to Mehmet Oz, pain linked to the growth of malignant tumors may originate in the afflicted location or spread to other bodily areas.

It may also happen during the tumor’s growth or after your treatment is over, and the tumor’s location affects how bad the pain is.

Dr. Oz provides an example wherein a tumor developing in the belly has more room to expand in size than a tumor growing in the brain, which is why the latter will transmit signals faster.

Remember that certain tumors may not cause pain until they have progressed to an advanced stage. For this reason, yearly screenings should not be overlooked since they can detect potential issues.

Pain can be a symptom of a very serious issue that you should not let to worsen:

1.A severe backache
Severe back pain is the most prevalent symptom of multiple myeloma, an incurable, uncommon, and extremely aggressive form of blood cancer that attacks the bone marrow. Other symptoms include anemia, renal failure, vertebral subsidence, and recurrent fractures and infections.

Many individuals experience long-lasting latent symptoms that don’t show up until the disease has progressed to an advanced state.

2.Abdomen ache that never goes away
Colonoscopy is required to identify adenomatous polyps, which emerge in the early stages of colon cancer and may be the cause. An yearly abdominal ultrasound is essential to prevent this, and treatment and removal of any polyps found is important.

It’s important to keep in mind that, with early detection, this type of cancer that affects the colon and rectum is treatable.

This is only achievable if a straightforward annual physical is performed! An early diagnosis of the condition can be made using an abdominal ultrasound.

Black stools, weight loss, diarrhea for extended periods of time, blood in the feces, and persistent constipation are all signs of colon cancer.

3.Ongoing discomfort in the lower abdomen
This is the region containing the bladder, ovaries, and uterus.

Bloating, cramping, and discomfort in the abdomen may sometimes be associated with menstruation, but they can also be signs of ovarian cancer, a more dangerous condition.

One issue with this kind of cancer is that it hurts, especially in more advanced stages when the tumor is present. It is thus advised to have a gynecological examination once a year.

Additional signs of ovarian cancer include persistent bloating in the abdomen, frequent urination, bleeding after menopause, appetite loss and weight loss, anal hemorrhage, and persistent bloating.

4.Ongoing headaches
While not all headaches are indicative of brain cancer, certain persistent ones could be.

The discomfort will increase in frequency and intensity as the tumor develops. Additional signs of brain cancer include a persistent headache that occurs first thing in the morning, a headache that wakes you up from sleep and is accompanied by nausea and vertigo, changes in tactile and visual senses, and balance problems.

5.Persistent bone ache
Dr. Oz cautions that bone cancer can spread to other organs. It can also result in back discomfort, fractures, anemia, recurrent infections, and persistent exhaustion.

6.Chronic chest pain
may indicate the emergence of a lung tumor, cautions Dr. Mehmet Oz. Breathing becomes unpleasant and difficult due to lung tumors.

Apart from this discomfort, other indications of lung cancer might be persistent coughing and bleeding, dyspnea, hoarseness, and loss of weight.
