Unfortunately, death is an unavoidable aspect of life. Anyone who loses a loved one is devastated by it. We offer Bob Newhart and his family our sorrow for Ginne Newhart’s passing at the age of 82.
At the age of 82, the late comedian Bob Newhart lost his wife. The bereaved family posted a statement mourning the passing on Twitter.
The message said that on April 23, 2023, after a protracted battle with illness, we lost our beloved Ginnie Quinn Newhart, wife, mother, and grandma. She was our rock, thus we mourn her loss sincerely.
Publicist Jerry Digney also got word from a media source that the disclosure was true. Their union had been together for sixty years. In 1962, they went on a blind date that was arranged by their pal and fellow comedian Buddy Hackett. The following year, in 1963, the pair was wed.
Ginnie, his wife, supported him throughout his career in television. From 1972 to 1978, Bob Hartley portrayed a clinical psychologist on The Bob Newhart Show. In addition, from 1982 to 1990, he portrayed Vermont innkeeper Dick Loudon on the television series Newhart.
The Newhart series finale, which revealed that Dick Loudon only lived in Bob Hartley’s head and that everything had been a dream, is credited to Ginnie.
The twist in the ending has been cited by many viewers as one of their favorite television moments ever since it happened. Ginnie routinely appeared in the background in several of Newhart’s shows. The couple frequently appeared together on the 1970s game show Tattletales.
Four kids were born to the couple: Robert, Tim, Jennifer, and Courtney. They have grandchildren as well. According to the Newhart spokesman, a private funeral will be planned for Ginnie in the coming weeks.
This information saddens me. We offer our condolences to Ginnie Newhart’s family and to everyone else who is mourning her passing. Please join us in offering our thoughts and prayers to the family.
