At the Life Care Center in Kansas City, a patient and Isabelle Jennings, a young caregiver, grew close via music, particularly hymns. Isabelle helped Mary Helen Schmelze on a regular basis and also went to her room every Friday to sing a song to her. They had only known each other for a few months when Mary started to have issues.
She was close to passing away because of congestive heart failure. Isabelle went to the care home on her day off after hearing the news and performed a hymn for Mary one more time. Mary’s daughter Julie recorded the nurse’s aide singing wonderfully for her friend.

Isabelle sang “In The Garden” brilliantly. In an interview with Today, Isabelle stated, “I knew that would be the last time I would see Helen because I loved her and considered her a friend.” When her family and Mary’s granddaughter learned of her situation, she consoled them.
Isabelle was encouraged to sing for Mary every time Mary saw her. Isabelle said that she truly cared about everyone and was always willing to provide a hand. Mary Helen died away just a few days after the video was captured.
The video was posted to YouTube by her daughter Julie with the goal of encouraging other carers. According to Julie, the nicest gift you can offer someone is just your time and your sympathy. Please tell your loved ones and friends about this.
