The stepmother of Kirsty MacColl claims that the murderer will never be apprehended.
Hit songs “Fairytale of New York” and “A New England” were among Kirsty’s best-known works. She was killed in 2000 when she and her kids, ages 13 and 15, were struck by a powerboat while diving off the coast of Mexico. Her age was forty-one.
The multimillionaire president of a Mexican grocery business, Guillermo Gonzalez Nova, was operating the boat, which was traveling fast and against the law in a designated diving area. However, one of his workers accepted responsibility and was fined $2,240 as opposed to serving a 34-month jail sentence.
Kirsty’s mother, Jennifer Newlove, spearheaded the Justice For Kirsty movement until her passing in 2017.
Peggy Seeger, 88, was married to Kirsty’s father, singer-songwriter and campaigner Ewan MacColl, from 1977 until his death in 1989. “Kirsty’s death was a complete and utter criminal tragedy,” the speaker declared.

It was not meant to be the man who killed her. He made an attempt to shift the responsibility.
“It’s similar to how our government operates in that they say one thing, terrible things occur, and they carry out their plans.” I concur with their statements.
Power has this effect. The lives of her sons have never been the same.
Peggy said, “No,” when asked if Kirsty would ever receive justice. The only person who could have followed them was her mother, and she made an effort.
“She became politically aware of the fact that powerful people can’t be reached when they hide behind their power, especially in a foreign country,” after she and Ewan were married for a while.
Peggy, a seasoned vocalist and pianist who will perform on July 28 at the Cambridge Folk Festival, says of Kirsty, “Ahhhhhh.” She was my married daughter. Too bad we weren’t able to collaborate. She was incredibly astute. She has a wide range of abilities. She had some really brilliant ideas.
“It’s likely she would have taken off.” Still, she was terrified of the stage. She beat it for a while.
