Tragedy of the late show

Stephen Colbert broke down in tears on television after paying tribute to his longtime friend and colleague.

Although Amy Cole was on Stephen’s show for a long time, she just passed away from cancer. She was only fifty-three.

Stephen paid tribute to his friend at the conclusion of his Late Show.

At the conclusion of the performance on Monday, there was a title card with an image of Amy.

With the comment, “Dedicated to our dear friend Amy Cole, 1970–2024,” the picture was shared.

According to LateNighter, viewers complained that the normally humorous program turned somber.

They said Stephen instructed them to shut up.

That concludes the late show, said Stephen, grinning.

It appeared like he was trying hard not to cry while attentively considering.

He bid the audience “good night” and slipped off the stage.

The title card was not displayed to the studio staff, so they were unaware of Stephen’s abrupt departure.

Online, writers and employees gave Amy heartfelt condolences.

“One of the nicest things I’ve ever done was work with and get to know Amy Cole.” On our program, we all loved her so dearly, and we always will,” Brian Stack remarked on X, the former Twitter platform.

Amy Cole was a beacon of pleasure, joy, and serenity amidst the mayhem at work. Producer Opus Moreschi expressed his sadness for her passing.

He included a link to Radio Lollipop and added, “If you love someone with cancer, or even if you don’t, please give to Amy’s favorite charity in her name.”

Words cannot express how much Amy Cole is missed. “F*ck cancer,” the director, Jake Plunkett, said.

“Amy had a great passion for helping children with cancer.” He then urged people to “give to the link in order to help spread the light that she brought to the world.”

Amy Cole was an oasis of peace, happiness, and positivity in our office.
