Canadian celebrity Dr. Kimberly Nix passed away three years after learning she had metastatic sarcoma.
Because of her posts on Instagram and TikTok regarding her fight with cancer, Dr. Nix was well-known. On May 8, 2013, she sent her final video on social media, informing followers of her passing.
“Now that my trip is over, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you!”
The message they left was, “Your comments and support are more than enough to get anyone through anything! You have all made me so happy!” “Please use the link in my bio to help fund research for sarcoma cancer. You can also follow my husband to see his posts.”
Sarcoma is a general word used to describe a class of malignancies that originate in soft tissues such as muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves, and tendons, as well as in bones, according to the Mayo Clinic. Metastatic refers to a cancer that has progressed to stage 4 and has migrated too far from its original place.
In her most recent nine-minute video, Dr. Nix was spotted recording a “get ready with me” video while seated on the bathroom floor.
“Hello followers, if you’re seeing this message, I have died peacefully,” she said at the beginning of the TikTok. “Hello, I’m Kim, and I apologize if you’ve never met. Hi, it’s a pleasure to have you here. Please take time to go over all of the fascinating details regarding sarcoma, including my own story of passing away from sarcoma cancer. You’re not required to go since you’re new.
She uttered, “I love you all, thank you so much for this incredible opportunity.” I’m crying with joy because you’ve given me so much to look forward to in the last stages of my life.
While applying makeup in the film, Dr. Nix reflected on her life experiences, including attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Nix advanced significantly in her academic career as well. She was 28 years old and in her third and last year of an internal medicine core residency when she was diagnosed.
“I had a beautiful life,” she declared to the assembly. “I feel so accomplished.”
Around the middle of the video, Dr. Nix starts crying as she remembers leaving her spouse, whom she had referred to as the “love of her life.”
We never got to grow old together, and that is the one thing that saddens me about dying in the most wonderful love. “That is the only thing that is truly important; everything else can wait.”
She urged her audience to give to the Sarcoma Alliance at the conclusion of the video. “Improve the lives of people affected by sarcoma through accurate diagnosis, improved access to care, guidance, education, and support,” reads the charity’s website.
“I am so grateful for all of your comments; they have given me so much encouragement and have let me know that I’m not alone in this process.” At the conclusion of the video, she remarked, “This community has meant the world to me, and I can’t thank you all enough.”
“I shall miss you, TikTok. I adore you all and am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity. Seeing how much you have contributed to my search for purpose at the end of my life brings tears to my eyes. I really appreciate it. Dr. Nix remarked, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
