THE MOTHER’S HORROR When I woke up, my daughter was dead next to me. Doctors attempted to save her, but it was too late; we don’t know why.

One mother described the horrible feeling of waking up to discover her five-year-old daughter dead beside her.

On December 28, 2017, Lila’s mother, Rachael Marsland, discovered daughter unconscious in bed with her.

Little Lila is believed to have been dead for several hours before they arrived, despite the fact that they immediately dialed 911.

In two weeks, it would be her sixth birthday.

“I woke up and she was dead next to me,” Rachael described the horrific incident to the Manchester Evening News. She had already passed away when I called for assistance.

“By the time they arrived, it was too late to perform CPR on her.” It’s awful. It still amazes me that it happened.

She was kind to all of them. She always gave a hug to each instructor when I dropped her off or picked her up from school. She had thirty minutes to depart.

Rachael claimed that neither she nor Lila’s father Daz, 41, could grieve for Lila’s passing as they still don’t know how she passed away.

An in-depth hearing about Lila’s death has been scheduled for November.

A month after her death, her family held a burial service, which left many very sad. There were many individuals in the church.

Rachael recalled the event as “the perfect day” for her daughter because every friend from elementary school was present.

Now, the family has established Lila’s Light as a nonprofit. Making grieving bags for children who have lost a sibling is its aim.

According to Rachael, her family’s goals are to “keep Lila’s name alive” and pursue “something good.”
