At the age of 66, a well-known celebrity chef who was commended for creating simple and hearty dishes passed away.
Dave Myers, star of Hairy Bikers, passed away. His age was sixty-six.
The well-known TV chef courageously disclosed to his audience that he has been battling cancer since 2022.
Si King, co-star of Myers in Hairy Bikers, revealed the tragic news in a statement on Thursday.
“Hi everyone,” said Si. I’m sorry to break the awful news. As most of you are aware, Dave has been battling cancer for a few years now.
Dave passed away quietly at home on February 28, 2024, last night. I was with him, along with his close friend David, his family, and his wife Lili.
“The loss of Dave has left everyone he knew heartbroken.” He was really happy with his wife and her two kids, Sergiu and Iza. They were like his own children to Dave.
Sometimes I’m not sure I can express how I’m feeling.
“I’m not able to follow my best friend on her journey right now.” His companionship and the fifty years we had together will always be missed.
“Godspeed, my sibling. You have been a light in this world and you always will be.
“Until later, bye.” “I cherish you.”
Myers and King rose to fame as the Hairy Bikers over 20 years ago.
They traveled the UK, Europe, and the rest of the world on motorbikes, stopping wherever they went to cook and eat.
Their most recent BBC program, The Hairy Bikers Go West, debuted a few weeks ago in the UK.
In the first episode, Myers described getting back on his motorcycle as “a dream come true.”
Furthermore, “I didn’t know if I would ever get back in the saddle again.”
“I thought I would never be able to walk or balance normally again. I never imagined that I would be back on a bike.
“This one was extra special because of Dave’s health and how much he loves and is determined to do what he does,” Si said in an interview to launch the series.
“To continue doing it while he was receiving treatment required a great deal of courage and strength.”
Myers revealed his cancer diagnosis on the Hairy Bikers: Agony Uncles podcast in May 2022. However, he did not specify the type of cancer he had.
Later that year, he discussed how his wife had been impacted by his illness on BBC Radio Cumbria.
Lil, his partner, is under a lot of stress because of it, he claimed.
However, Si spent a week driving us from hospital to hospital. London arriving and departing.
“Lil had to take a week off. Si visited me, drove me to the hospital, and prepared a big pot of food that I could freeze.
“My first round of chemotherapy wasn’t good at all.” By the second batch, my hair was falling out. That was it.
