Willie Nelson has been entertaining crowds for more than 60 years, and he has no plans to stop.
The iconic singer-songwriter will turn 90 years old later this month, yet he continues to work as hard as he always has, writing incredible songs and making sure his loyal fans get every chance to see him perform live.
Nelson will in fact celebrate his impending special birthday while on tour. In 1962, Nelson signed his first substantial recording deal with Liberty Records. The famous person discussed the idea and claimed that, although work wasn’t necessary for him, it was nonetheless advantageous in a recent interview with AARP.
He insisted that working helped him, regardless of the kind of show.
Since I’ll be there for two days and many of my close friends will be there to say hello and sing with me, it will be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to do it.
Neil Diamond describes his grim prognosis in frightening detail.
Jack Nicholson’s friends are worried when the awful truth comes to light.
Katie Holmes asserts she wants to “protect” her daughter Suri just one month after Tom Cruise accusations surfaced.
Even while the phenomena of well-known performers continuing to perform much past the age of retirement is nothing too new, there are differences between performing live music on a multi-show tour and starring in film or television roles or contributing your voice to a project. Examples are David Attenborough (96), Michael Caine (89), and Dick Van Dyke (97).
Nelson is still able to plan events and stage amazing performances. Not bad for a man who is close to entering his ninth decade on Earth!
The country singer discussed the prospect of turning 90:
When her close friend Norman Lear recently turned 100, the singer told AARP that she told him, “I’ve been telling everybody it’s just a number.” “Am I right? ” He answered, “Yes, it’s simply a number.
The Texas-born performer went on to say that he was always ready to hop back on the tour bus and see new places.
Willie said facetiously, “I retire after every tour.” But I’m always ready to come back. It’s fun for me to ride the bus. I have everything I need on the bus. Never had to go inside a hotel room. Not all that bad, actually.
I find it incredible that Willie Nelson still has the strength to perform in front of so many people under the strain even though it might not be horrible!
also his voice? I’ll be a very content guy if I sound even half as well as he does at that age, assuming I live that long to begin with.
It’s incredible that after all the years Nelson has spent singing, he still has the same smooth voice.
Even more recently, he stated in an interview, “I think singing is good for my voice.”
I no longer engage in many activities that can damage it. If you don’t utilize it, you lose it.
I’d want to take this opportunity to wish Willie Nelson many more happy and healthy years.
