When Carol Howarth of Haverfordwest, UK, went shopping one day, she came back to find her car battered by hundreds of unwelcome visitors. There was a whole swarm perched on her car’s rear.
Local resident Tom Moses was shocked to see the spectacle and remarked, “It was a real show.” When I arrived by car, I noticed that a large crowd of photographers had already formed. However, I was a bit concerned. I was worried that someone might do something foolish, like throw boiling water at them, since the automobile was directly in front of a bar. Everything might come to a disastrous conclusion. Tom then picked up the phone and dialed the individuals on the bee site. They finally succeeded in packing them all into a box.
Only a brief period of time will Carol be able to drive her car again: “The next day I noticed that the bees had followed me home!” It was her time to give the beekeepers a call now. Roger Burns, one of them, stated: “We believe the queen was drawn to something within the car, most likely something sweet.” Then she became stuck somewhere in the car’s plastic. More than 2,000 bees followed her and congregated on the vehicle.
The queen was eventually let free by the beekeepers, and she went back to her house. Although the beekeepers acknowledge that bees typically follow their queen, they find it odd that the bees followed an automobile for two days in a row.
